By the order of John Payne, Alamance County Fire Marshal there is a ban on open burning in Alamance County. The burn ban in Alamance County includes burning within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling.  This is in addition to the open burning restrictions issued by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture Forest Service Division. The burn ban went into effect on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 5PM and will remain in effect until further notice.  The order cancels all burning permits and prohibits all open burning statewide.
