Elon Connect

The Town of Elon administrative offices will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In case of an emergency, please call 911.

With the prospect of winter weather coming through the area on Saturday night and Sunday, we encourage you take the time to prepare for any power outages or damage that may occur. If your power goes out, please call Duke Energy at 1-800-POWERON or 1-800-769-3766. Remember if there is a downed powerline in the road or near your home, please do not approach it or drive over it. Call 911. For information on preparing for storms, please visit the Town’s website or visit ready.gov.

As a reminder, overfilled garbage and recycling bins will not be picked up by the Town’s contractors. When lifted to be dumped into the truck, overfilled bins lose bags and loose trash, which fall into the roadway or yard creating a mess and causing trash to be strewn across town. For safety reasons, the drivers are not allowed to get out and retrieve bags or loose waste that fall from the bins. Extra bins are available for both trash and recycling to help keep the bins from being overfilled. Some additional fees may apply. To obtain an extra bin, please call the Water Department at 336.584.0282.
