On Wednesday, July 29th, Governor Cooper ended the prohibition found in Executive Order 142 regarding utility shut offs and evictions. This prohibition expired at 11:59pm on July 29th. If you have not paid your water bills with the due dates of March 31st and May 31st, please call the water department to make payment arrangements.

The water bills due today, July 31st, will receive a late fee of five dollars on Monday, August 3rd and if not paid in full by 5pm on Wednesday, August 12th a late fee of twenty dollars will be applied and service will be turned off. Additionally, on Wednesday, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 153 imposing a restriction on alcohol sales for on-site consumption at restaurants after 11pm until 7am. This restriction goes into effect at 11pm today, July 31st.   You can view the new order here.
