On Wednesday, August 4th, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 155 extending Phase Two of the State’s reopening plan through 5pm on Friday, September 11th. All requirements including wearing a mask, standing six (6) feet apart, and mass gathering limitations of ten (10) people inside and twenty-five (25) people outside remain in place.

In Elon, Town Hall, the Police Department, and Fire Stations remain closed to the public. Playgrounds at Beth Schmidt Park and Lawrence Slade Park remain closed. Trails, walking paths, and open space remain open to the public but please practice social distancing. Board of Aldermen, Planning Board, and Downtown Advisory Board meetings will remain virtual. This Saturday, August 8th, the Alamance County Service League will be holding a clothing drive from 9am until 1pm at Beth Schmidt Park. Also, next Saturday, August 15th is the Annual Elon-Gibsonville Shred A Thon from 9am until Noon. Both events are drop off only events and will follow all COVID-19 guidelines.
