National Police Week May 10-16, 2020

In this time of uncertainty and change, we honor the men and women of the Elon Police Department for their service to our community.  Through their dedication and service, our community is kept safe and continues to be ranked among the safest cities in North Carolina. We are blessed to have such dedicated law enforcement professionals serving the Town of Elon and thank them for their service.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
