Downtown Elon Crosswalk Mural
Downtown Leaf Mural with Artist Mary Ed RyanFirst Mural in Downtown Elon!

The Town of Elon is proud to have our first murals in downtown! Both of these murals were painted by artist, Mary Ed Ryan. She is a seasoned artist who has been painting most of her life and has a love of painting these outdoor murals. The first mural was done just prior to students arriving for the new school year 2022. The cross walk on Holt Ave next to Magerk's is now a colorful abstract piece with a sun in the center. The second mural was completed in September 2022 and is located in the outdoor dining area on W. Lebanon Ave. The large, colorful oak leaves created a beautiful back drop and are a part of the beauty of Elon with its huge Oak Trees. The Art Advisory Board, Downtown Advisory Board and Town Council have been anxious for public art the past few years.

The interactive Kaleidoscope was donated by Alamance Arts Council in 2022. Located on Williamson Ave. on the Elon Community Church property.

The utility box located on W. Lebanon was painted by staff from Pandora's Pies Maria Lester and Jayden Brown in 2023 to make an eye sore in downtown a piece of public art!

Our new downtown plaza now has a beautiful centerpiece painted by artist Mary Ed Ryan! The mural features part of the town’s logo, which was decided by town staff members.
