In sadness, we announce that former Mayor Timothy Parker has passed away. Mayor Parker served the Town of Elon for six years from 1979 until 1985. During his tenure as Mayor, the Town of Elon welcomed R.H. Barringer and the Twin Lake Community to Elon. The Town also increased their water and sewer infrastructure providing this necessary service to a larger population throughout town. The Board of Aldermen commended Mayor Parker for his dedicated interest, professional approach, and positive attitude in a resolution issued on the 10th day of December in 1985.
