Help us spread holiday cheer by Filling the Deere. The annual food drive goal is to fill the Salvation Army of Alamance County’s food pantry.

Starting November 1st through December 22nd, the Town of Elon staff led by the Public Works department will be taking donations for food in the annual Fill the Deere food drive.  Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Town Hall in the blue bin next to the John Deere Excavator or inside Town Hall in the designated box. Over 14% of Alamance County residents are in poverty and many need help putting food on the table. Please donate to the cause.

Here is a list of regularly requested items (not an exhaustive list at all). Please ensure that the products have not passed their sell by date.

• Peanut butter
• Canned soup
• Canned fruit
• Canned vegetables
• Canned stew
• Canned fish
• Canned beans
• Pasta (most prefer whole grain)
• Rice (most prefer brown rice)
