Elon, NC (February 5, 2020) We were able to identify Maureen Chafatelli DOB 05/16/1997 as the female victim. She is in stable condition at Moses Cone Hospital.
The male victim was identified as Nickolas Marquis Johnson DOB 8/27/1997. He succumbed to his gunshot wounds. The Elon Police Department is actively following up on leads on a suspect in this case.
Through the course of the investigation, Detectives with the Elon Police Department were able to identify the suspect, Barry Eugene Campbell of 206 Pinedale Drive in this case. Warrants have been obtained for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury for the assault on Ms. Chafatelli. Warrants for the death of Mr. Johnson are forthcoming.
