Rev. Randy Orwig was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Randy earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from University of Toledo in 1982 and Master of Divinity degree at Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 1986. Originally ordained as a United Methodist minister, he served four congregations in Ohio. In 1992, he transferred his ordained status to the United Church of Christ starting a church in Virginia Beach, serving a brief time in Ferguson Missouri, and moving to Elon in 2011 where he serves as Senior Pastor of Elon Community Church UCC. Randy started spending time in Elon from 1992 till now. He served on the Board of Trustees of Elon University in his role as President of the Southern Conference UCC. Randy has been married to Bev, a newly retired teacher, for 42 years. They have two children and a daughter-in law as well as two grandchildren attending at ABSS schools.
