Dear Elon Residents:
This past Tuesday evening, someone vandalized a religious symbol at the Chabad Elon Jewish Center here in Elon. As the elected officials of the Town, we are appalled that this crime was committed. It is unacceptable and not consistent with our community values of tolerance and inclusion. It is important for all residents to know that we fully support our religious community and that our Police Department will work diligently to find the perpetrators of this act.
Our Police Department is actively following up on multiple leads with respect to this crime. We are working with our partners to establish a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible parties. We encourage any resident to contact the Elon Police Department or Crime Stoppers with any information that they may have related to this crime.
