Elon Connect

On Wednesday, February 24th, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 195, which will begin today Friday, February 26th at 5PM. The Executive Order removes the curfew imposed by prior executive orders allowing people to be out of their homes between 10PM and 5AM. Additionally, the executive order allows for certain venues to reopen at specified capacity limitations while capacity limits for restaurants and retail stores remain at 50 percent. Masks are still required to be worn in public settings. Inside restaurants, masks must be worn when not actively eating or drinking. The Town of Elon mass gathering limits will remain at 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.

We all remain hopeful for an end to the pandemic. Keep up the great work of wearing a mask, socially distancing, and washing your hands regularly. These actions will help control the spread of the virus until we can all receive the vaccine. For more information on the actions taken around COVID-19, please visit the Town’s Coronavirus Information page.
