Downtown Development Director Jill Weston

Jill is the Downtown Development Director for the Town of Elon.  She has lived in Alamance County for the past 20 years and has lived in Elon for the past 6 years.  She has 30 years experience in event planning and has worked for 3 downtowns in North Carolina all  under the Main Street umbrella.  She has owned and operated two businesses, one that moved with her from Southern California.  She is thrilled be working for her home town.  “Elon is a very special community.  I love the energy the students bring, the culture the University provides and the beauty and hometown feel of  the downtown,” said Weston.  She is especially excited about new projects coming soon to improve the outdoor seating and programing possibilities in downtown.

Downtown Assistant/Farmers Market Manager

Sarah is the Downtown Assistant and Elon Farmer’s Market Manager. After four years at Appalachian State University, she has returned to her hometown of Elon. She graduated from Appalachian with a degree in Sustainable Development, specializing in agroecology and sustainable agriculture. Her experience includes working on the Sustainable Development Teaching and Research Farm and at a local apple orchard. Sarah is looking forward to reconnecting with her community and positively impacting the local food system that raised her.
